Old wine in a new bottle: Celebrating 10 years of 1 Lounge

It was a few years ago, back in 2008, when Pune opened its doors to one of the swankiest places to party in Pune! 10 years down the line, the place still manages to hold its position; just like old wine that only gets better with age!

Recently, the place underwent a complete revamp, including the style, vibe and even the menu! They have added a few new dishes and retained the best-sellers from their previous. These are mostly dishes from the Indian and European platter.

The new menu is short, easy to read through and has plenty of unique options to choose from. To start with, we chose the Butter Chicken Tacos a set of 3 soft-shelled tacos, generously stuffed with butter chicken and sour cream and paired it with a delicious citrusy Orange & Walnut Salad, high on freshness. The food menu is extensive with a special thought on appetizers that pair well with their amazing range of drinks.

Talking about drinks, we opted for the Twin Happiness Slushy a stunning daiquiri with pineapple and strawberry, a fabulous take on the regular pina colada. The Blue Galaxy with blue curacao, gin & vodka is a treat for those who love a good punch of alcohol!

1 Lounge has a massive space- something that can make for any creative setup – for late evenings or private parties with a close bunch; the space inside is mostly reserved for private parties. The lawn areas are great for hitting up with your gang or choose a more secluded corner for a romantic date.

Either way, we just cannot get over how well 1 Lounge has retained its charm! On this special first decade anniversary, we congraulate team 1 Lounge and hope that they will continue to charm and surprise us the way they have!

After All – This new bar in Kapila Matrix is such that After All, Visiting it is a must!

I am climbing one of the tallest towers in Pune. On the 7th floor, I enter a hallway that overlooks all of Pune. I am served the finest wine and eat the best food! What am I talking about? Well, the newest club on the block – After All!

Replacing the last fine-dine at Kapila Matrix on Mundhwa road, Syrakko, this newbie in Pune opened its doors just a couple of weeks back. While their menu has been completely revamped, the ambience is still a work in progress and can be expected to complete in less than a month. The space has a huge dancing space, where you can shake a leg while your eyes dance to the scenic beauty of Pune.

The menu has a mix of different cuisines. For starters, we tried the Rozali Chicken Pizza, which was topped with Indian spiced chicken and hard-boiled eggs. Then there was the Mongolian Chicken Satay – a bowl of spicy chicken tenders with salsa on the side; & Pepper Chicken- an Asian preparation of chicken cubes and peppers.

We also tried the Burmese Khowsuey Soup that was served with small sides of crispy onions and Hakka noodles! We absolutely loved the Chicken Cordon Bleu stuffed with ham and blue cheese and served with the crispiest onion rings and a peanut-based sauce!

This could also be a great drinking spot for college goers! After all, After All also sells its alcohol at almost MRP prices. There are amazing appetisers to pair with the drinks that are quite affordable too. It gets even cheaper during happy hours, that last between 12 to 7 pm.

So whether it’s about taking that special someone on a casual romantic evening, or just chilling with a bunch of friends, this place has all that you need. From a good view to cheap drinks and well-priced portions of delicious food from cuisines around the world, this place definitely has our attention. Have you tried it yet?

This Brit-American Themed Bar in Chandni Chowk Is Sure To Become Your Weekend Haven

Imagine being in a west-worldly bar where you are pleasured with the rhythm of live performance music! Legacy is just that – a Brit-American themed bar at the famous Garden Court Restaurant located by the NDA Road of Pune. With live gigs that play every Saturday evening, this place is sure to become your weekend haven.

Located on top of a small hill, it’s the perfect location for a surprise date with your loved one or simply to have a chilled beer with a couple of friends. Serene and vibrant, the place has a charm of its own. The humble staff and cozy interiors will make you so comfortable, you just wouldn’t want to leave!

Legacy offers a wide range of cocktails and also has happy hours every day! When it comes to satisfying your taste buds, there are a plethora of options to choose from. We called for the perfectly cheesy and crispy Cheese Onion Rings and the Shahi Akbari Murg Kebab for starters. The kebabs were simply succulent, while the char-grilled chicken came with a mild flavour of cashew and rose petals in it.

The Fried Chicken Wings came with perfectly spiced batter and were served in three variations – extra hot, cajun and lemon chilly. There was also the perfectly seasoned Fish Portofino, served with the creamiest mashed potatoes you’ll ever have.

The pizzas at Legacy are cheesy, homely and perfect comfort food for a cold Pune evening. Legacy also holds Bladder Burst events every Thursday! For the uninitiated, this is a scene where you can drink all the beer you want for just Rs. 499/- but only until you visit the loo. So, To Pee Or Not To Pee? That is the question!

Head over to Legacy Bar for some fun times full of delicious food and live music!

A Sneak Peek Into The Life Of The Head Chef At Elephant and Co – Say Hello to Sohini Bhattacharyya! – #Forkers

Have you ever experienced that feeling where you go to a restaurant and eat its food and the first thing you want to do is to go and give the chef a tight kiss? At the expense of sounding creepy, I have! Multiple times. And a lot of those times were at Elephant and Co gastropub. Known for its delicious and experimental cocktails, this bar has been one of my favourites since the time it opened its gates last year in May. From then till now, they have tried to experiment with a lot of dishes, bringing in fun elements such as serving teriyaki chicken in a bowl made out of a real pineapple. However, not all of them received the response they expected.

The Bar And Eatery – Koregaon Park’s Favourite Bar Next Door

Something about this place made me relate it to the boy next door. Modest, charming, not trying too hard but still very confident of what it wants to offer! A bar that has been around since a few months now but is quite hidden amidst so many other things happening in the middle of Lane 6 and Lane 7, The Bar and Eatery has the potential to instantly make it to your list of favourites in the city!
