Pune’s First Ever Public Congregation Space – Alpaviram

If you love reading books, you’d know the joy of an open library! Now you can enjoy one along with a great space to indulge in your favourite book at Alpaviram – a cute-little creation put together by a bunch of architecture students.

When Rujuta and her team first came across this space in Kothrud, it was an abandoned bus stop used alternately as a garbage dump and an area for youngsters to drink and smoke. She instantly knew it was the perfect project to take up. Within a span of few days, Rujuta and her team turned the bus stop into an unbelievably cute spot! And that too, by reusing most of the available resources.

Along with an open library, Alpaviram boasts of a radium panel of the Pune skyline (yes, it glows in the dark), a vertical garden, a large-size board of Snakes & Ladders painted on the footpath and differently sized seating arrangements (for children and adults). The mere sight of the setup is a visual treat!
