Make way for Samiya Ahmed, a Patisserie Chef from Le Cordon Bleu, London. Curating, experimenting and creating new mouth-watering delicacies each day, Samiya has been successfully running her home-baking business under the name of SweetSpot in Pune for three years now. She is well known for her French delicacies and absolutely enjoys the time she spends baking! Her desserts are each better than the other; so much so that most people who try them want to marry her! Too bad for them, we have already called our dibs on her. Haha!

We’ve all drooled over the talented and gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch. His nonchalant demeanour with that English wit is what makes him such an iconic detective on screen. It was only befitting that being big Sherlock fans; we reveled in Benedict Cumberbatch’s birthday in the most fun way possible – a pub crawl! Forking Team members – Sanaa Nalwalla and Arpan Panicker teamed up and took up the challenge.

A Sneak Peek Into The Life Of The Head Chef At Elephant and Co – Say Hello to Sohini Bhattacharyya! – #Forkers

Have you ever experienced that feeling where you go to a restaurant and eat its food and the first thing you want to do is to go and give the chef a tight kiss? At the expense of sounding creepy, I have! Multiple times. And a lot of those times were at Elephant and Co gastropub. Known for its delicious and experimental cocktails, this bar has been one of my favourites since the time it opened its gates last year in May. From then till now, they have tried to experiment with a lot of dishes, bringing in fun elements such as serving teriyaki chicken in a bowl made out of a real pineapple. However, not all of them received the response they expected.

Quick-Fix Paneer Macaroni – Recipe – #nevergooutofseason

Bored of eating Maggi every time you get hungry and want your food in literally two minutes? Try this recipe for homemade Paneer Macaroni. It’s delicious and super easy to make!

Quick-fix Paneer Macaroni (Serves 2-3)

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

Five cloves of garlic
10 pieces of sun-dried tomatoes
2 bell peppers (red and yellow), chopped
1/2 zucchini, chopped
1 TSP pasta seasoning
Red chilli flakes, to taste
150 grams durum wheat macaroni
150 grams of paneer (I used Modern Dairy‘s Malai Paneer), cubed.
Half a handful of Pine nuts
7-8 Basil leaves
1/4 cup milk
Salt, to taste
Olive oil, 2 tbsp

Good Food All Day Every Day – Cafe Felix, Bangalore

When the Café Felix invite dropped in my inbox, I was ultra-excited! The menu looked super interesting, as did the space. I roped in a friend, spoke to Apeksha (the one co-ordinating the tasting sessions) and a weekday lunch at this brand-new cafe was decided upon. ‘

As we entered the café, we were greeted with plenty of natural light and a modern casual chic vibe that instantly set the tone for our lunch. Before we settled in, Apeksha showed us around the gorgeous restaurant and introduced us to Chef Nitin Kulkarni who was previously with team Indigo from Mumbai for over 17 years. He’s been working with The Clearing House in Mumbai for the last few years and has made his way into Bangalore with the all-day open, Café Felix.

Top Chef Culinary Workshop by Chef Saransh Goila

A Top Chef culinary workshop sounded amusing, but I could not help but wonder how one could pull that off at Godrej Nature’s Basket! The event was set in a cosy corner of its Koregaon Park outlet and started on time. I expected Chef Saransh Goila to be slightly haughty from the little background check I did (courtesy of Google). A successful food travelogue plus finding space in the Limca book of world records is no small feat. But to my surprise, that wasn’t the case! From a shared adoration towards Padma Lakshmi to chucklesome references of posting food photos onto Instagram, Chef Goila seemed like quite a rooted man.

Living The Passion For Food At Krusty’s!

The passion for food drove Dr Vidya Joshi and her son Rohan to establish Krusty’s in 2013. After going through many potential markets in Pune, the mother-son duo set up their first outlet in Kothrud. From originally serving pizzas, sandwiches and desserts to bagging the Times Food Awards two years in a row, Krusty’s has constantly remoulded itself and how! Today, their new outlet in the developing Kharadi can be spotted at the World Trade Centre in the EON Free Zone.
