Cream Your Crust and Break Your Fast

If you are in the mood for a wholesome and filling English, Spanish or Ultimate breakfast, Crème and Crust in Indiranagar is the place to be! Although the place has been designed in a manner that it is apt for a breakfast for two, or for one of those solo breakfasts you have when you’re in the midst of working or contemplating about life/relationships/breakups, you can go there in a group as well, just like I did.

The place is not that spacious; it is one rectangular alley with tables on both sides, and the kitchen/reception counter at the end. Your reflection in the mirror on the right wall follows you up till the end of the alley. Black cane chairs with round tables define the basic look of the eatery. Apart from that, all the other interiors are kept to a minimal.

For food, you can choose from all-day breakfast, pancake parade – a variety of pancakes served with different stuffing/sides – or also the pastas, sandwiches or burgers. I tried the All American Breakfast and I have to say that they really do believe that you should have breakfast like a king! The quantity of food served is massive. The breakfast comes with your choice of juice and tea/coffee. I had mine with a glass of watermelon juice, café latte, fried egg and bacon. The fried egg was one of the best I’ve had; the bacon was as unhealthy as it could get, but yummy, nonetheless; the watermelon juice was well prepared and refreshing; and the latte, well, let’s just say I did not have to gulp it down my throat like I’ve had to at a lot of other places. I’d have preferred them serving hot chocolate instead of latte any day. Apart from that, they serve grilled mushrooms, baked beans, potato croquettes (which were average) and an assortment of breads. Quite strangely, they also give you salsa, which is yummy, and dip with it. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my meal.

If you want to go in for something light on the stomach, you can choose from the pancake combos. They’ll fill you up with just the right amount of food. Also, the Goan Chorizo (Spicy Pork Sausage Gravy) served with the Spanish Breakfast is delicious! They also have an option for Desi Breakfast with stuff like Chana Bhatura and Aloo Chaat, but I wouldn’t try those dishes at a place like that.

Overall, the place was good and I was glad that I tried it since I wanted to since a long time but I am not that excited to go there again.
