The passion for food drove Dr Vidya Joshi and her son Rohan to establish Krusty’s in 2013. After going through many potential markets in Pune, the mother-son duo set up their first outlet in Kothrud. From originally serving pizzas, sandwiches and desserts to bagging the Times Food Awards two years in a row, Krusty’s has constantly remoulded itself and how! Today, their new outlet in the developing Kharadi can be spotted at the World Trade Centre in the EON Free Zone.
For me, a perfect Sunday starts with an appetizing breakfast! And that’s exactly what I experienced a few days ago when I found myself seated at a petite and cozy cafe, placed just around the corner of lane 6 at Koregaon Park on a sunny Sunday morning. I entered Dinshaw’s Xpress Café to the sound of pleasant chatter and a waft of tummy-rumbling aroma! It was no wonder then that I ended up having a taste of almost everything on their breakfast menu!
Let me start this post with a question. What happened when you were in Goa? I’m sure that this question triggered a string of random, unique yet marvelous experiences in your head, which you will cherish for a lifetime. So when I went to Goa for the first time recently, how could it be a trip that I would not remember?
Let me tell you the story of an Italian-German traveler who I met in Goa. At 45, Mario has traveled to 20 countries including France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, the United States, etc. I happened to meet him at the pool deck of my hotel and as filmy as it may sound, our conversation started when he noticed me fussing over the taste of my margarita. Haha! We both got talking, and next thing we knew, we started bonding over our love for food. On learning that I was a food blogger on the hunt for new flavours and food, he recommended that I try this pizza place nearby. He really swore by it and totally managed to convince me to try it when he told me that he found the pizza there more delicious than the pizza back home in Italy! Yes! A claim like that would get anyone intrigued, wouldn’t it?
Something about this place made me relate it to the boy next door. Modest, charming, not trying too hard but still very confident of what it wants to offer! A bar that has been around since a few months now but is quite hidden amidst so many other things happening in the middle of Lane 6 and Lane 7, The Bar and Eatery has the potential to instantly make it to your list of favourites in the city!
Surrounded by the city’s skyline, under a blanket of stars, along with whiffs of cool breeze for company, Lost The Plot, Pune’s only rooftop cinema offers an experience that is absolutely beautiful and overwhelming! And with their newly introduced menu, what they like to call ‘cine-grub’, there is no reason you shouldn’t stop by for a magical evening.
A perfect meal for friends and impromptu get-togethers, the pizza is an Italian delight that has found a large number of patrons across the globe. In fact, many non-European countries are so fond of it that they mark their love for the dish with a National Pizza Month dedicated to it. Originally prepared on the Italian lands of Napoli (now Naples) with Sardinian bread and Sicilian cheese, it is the coordinates of this place which gave name to this new ‘across the kitchen counter’ pizza place in town, called 1441 Pizzeria.

And after you visit Big Pitcher for their famous brews, these are the words you’ll stand by forever. Located on Old Airport Road, very close to The Leela Palace hotel, Big Pitcher is a microbrewery loaded with five floors of madness! We quietly wandered in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch, and boy, were we in for a treat.
We started off with beer sampler which consisted of six variants:
King Slayer – Their most popular brew and it isn’t hard to see why. A delicious dark beer which looks like a stout, but tastes just like wheat beer.
